Recommended adapters for Windows Mixed Reality Capable PCs

Your Windows Mixed Reality compatible PC may not have the full-sized HDMI and USB 3.0 ports needed to connect your immersive headset. If that's the case, you'll need adapters to connect your headset. Below you'll find a list of adapter types you may need, and some recommendations on specific adapter models.

Windows Mixed Reality compatible USB Bluetooth Adapters

If your PC doesn't include Bluetooth for pairing Windows Mixed Reality motion controllers, you might try:

Recommended Powered USB 3.0 Hubs

Mixed Reality headsets can be used with an external USB 3.0 hub if your PC does not have enough open USB ports. The external USB 3.0 hub must be externally powered via an AC adapter in order to provide enough power to the headset.

Please also note the following guidance for use of an external USB 3.0 hub:

  • The USB hub must be a USB 3.0 hub.
  • The USB 3.0 hub must be connected to a USB 3.0 port on your PC.
  • The USB 3.0 hub must be externally powered (have an AC adapter that supplies extra power).
  • The Plugable 10-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Hub with 48W Power Adapter is known to work well with Mixed Reality headsets and most PCs.
