This event is part 2 of an event series - Around the world of Power BI in 80 days - a journey through the data platform.
What is this session about?
In the second session of this 12 part series we will focus on shaping data and visualisation. We will explore a case study where we use Power BI’s Query Editor to build the English Premier League table in Power BI. We import the match record of this season's games then reshape, append, sort, split and calculate and summarise the data to generate the results we need. We build our basic league table visualisation, then improve it with conditional formatting and custom tooltips.
Who is it aimed at?
The first four sessions in this series are designed for beginners to help you get started with PowerBI. The content will become more advanced as the course progresses through the PowerBI journey.
Why should I attend?
Transforming data into the right shape for data modelling and visualization is a fundamental to building good Power BI reports. This session show you how to do that using the Query Editor’s user interface.

Mark Wilcock in an independent trainer on data analysis and visualization, Power BI, data modelling, DAX, SQL, R, Python and Excel. He has taught thousands of people in many different organizations over the last few years.
You will require access to the PowerBI platform - if you don't have this already you can sign up for free.
No prior experience with PowerBI is required for the Beginner series.
