This three-part series explores how OneLake helps teams manage secure access, improve data discovery, and support data sharing across Microsoft Fabric. It begins with the foundations of OneLake security, moves into catalog and governance capabilities that make data easier to find and trust, and finishes with more advanced cross-workspace scenarios using shortcuts and mirroring. Each session is built around real‑world questions and common implementation challenges, helping attendees see how the core components of OneLake fit together in practice.

Making data easier to find and trust with OneLake Catalog
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (UTC)
This session covers how the OneLake catalog helps teams find, understand, and manage Fabric items, and keep the data they own in a healthier governance state. It shows how to use the catalog’s Explore, Govern, and Secure experiences to browse what you have access to, see governance insights and recommended actions, and review security roles in one place. It also shows how Copilot can generate descriptions for semantic model items in the catalog to make them easier to understand and reuse. By the end of the session, you will have a clear understanding of how to navigate the catalog, find the right assets faster and improve trust and. governance over time

Using OneLake shortcuts and mirroring for cross-workspace access
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (UTC)
This session explains how OneLake shortcuts and Mirroring in Fabric can be used to connect and share data across workspaces without making extra copies, and what that means for access control. It covers what shortcuts are, how access is evaluated across the shortcut location and the target location. We then walk through what mirroring is and how OneLake data access roles can be used to control access to mirrored data, with shortcuts to mirrored data respecting the security defined at the source mirrored item.

Building secure access in OneLake with roles, endpoints and data controls
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (UTC)
This session explains how secure access is built and managed in OneLake. It covers an overview of OneLake security, the data access control model, creating and managing roles, SQL analytics endpoint security, and granular controls for tables, folders, columns, and rows. The goal is to give attendees a clear understanding of how these settings fit together so they can configure access more confidently and avoid common issues when securing data in Fabric.
