Justin Garrett is host of this Just IN and a Principal Cloud Advocate in Cloud + AI Engineering at Microsoft. Justin works closely with learner communities to help address the skills gap in cloud development and manages a team of Cloud Advocates from around the world that do likewise. You’ll find him leading workshops at Microsoft Reactors, mentoring Student Ambassadors, and helping engineers improve Azure, GitHub and Visual Studio. Justin’s career at Microsoft also spans 16 years across Analytics, Windows, Bing search, Edge browser, Web Platform and Cloud Computing. Doug Seven is the General Manager for the Microsoft Health & Life Sciences Cloud+Data team. This team is responsible for the development of the Azure Health Data Services and has fundamentally changed how Microsoft brings cloud technology to market by building around open standards for specific industry rather than building general purpose tools that can be applied to any industry. In doing so, Doug’s team has enabled Protected Health Information to be a first-class citizen in the Azure Data Cloud and made it easier for organizations working with health data to leverage the compute and scale capabilities of Azure. Prior to Health & Life Sciences, Doug incubated and brought to market the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform and Azure Maps. For the past 20+ years, Doug has worked both within and outside of Microsoft, focused on incubation and innovation, working on several “v1” initiatives at Microsoft and in start-ups.
