This month in the Code Garden, Renee will help you sow your first seeds in the garden of front-end web development! She'll be talking about how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript come together to build the webpages you know and love!
In week 1, we'll look at what exactly "front-end" web development is and what you can do with it (without having a backend at all!). Join us to learn some essential HTML and CSS, and deploy then that to the internet with GitHub Pages.
In week 2, we'll take a look at your next essential items in HTML and CSS to give our site structure and flair, as well as see how we can use CSS to create interactive webpages.
In week 3, we'll bring JavaScript into the picture, and see how we can bring a whole new level of functionality to our site with scripts and cookies 🍪!
In this episode we'll look at what exactly "front-end" web development is and what you can do with it (without having a backend at all!). See how the browser turn some essential HTML and CSS into a webpage you can see, and deploy then that to the internet with GitHub Pages.

Your Speaker: Renee Noble - Regional Cloud Advocate
Renee is the Regional Cloud Advocate for the Sydney Reactor and the Australia region. She's passionate about technology, education, community, and bringing them all together in-person and online.
A self-proclaimed "Jane of all trades", Renee has worked in sectors across tech, outreach, and education. She's worked in ML and web development in the past, dabbles in embedded tech, and is always keen to learn more!
Renee is a passionate women in tech advocate, spending her spare time leading the Girls' Programming Network to support women and girls in tech. She also runs her own business, ConnectEd Code, working to bring exciting coding opportunities to kids and teachers. Beside teaching and tech she loves swing dancing, cats, and having a ridiculous number of plants.
