Series Description:

In honour of IWD which takes place in March, this Azure AI series will be delivered by women. The sessions are designed to help you get started on a Microsoft Azure AI learning journey. Not matter your previous knowledge of AI, this actionable set of sessions will take you through what is available in Azure AI, Computer Vision and Conversational AI and give you space to ask a set of expert’s questions about each topic.

We will only scratch the surface of what is available on Microsoft learn and will encourage you to continue your learning between weekly sessions in the series. This series partners with the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals certification – if you follow this learning path you will be well on your way to taking this exam.

Ruth Yakubu – Principal Cloud Advocate, Microsoft
Ruth is a Principal Cloud Developer Advocate at Microsoft. She specializes in Java, Artificial intelligence (AI), Advanced Analytics, Data platforms, and Cloud. She has Software Engineering experience including software architecture, designing, programming and management. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from University of Minnesota. She worked for ACCENTURE for 8 years with clients like Warner Bros., Kaiser Permenente, Wal-Greens, TicketMaster and State of California; before leaving to launch my startup company in Los Angeles, CA. In addition, she has worked as a Solution Architect at DIRECTV where she has led solution strategies and design architecture for projects like: NFL Sunday-Ticket, Movie Rating & Recommendation, Single Social Sign-on/Identity Management, AWS Cloud and Mobile iOS & Android App solutions.

Amy Boyd – Senior Cloud Advocate, Microsoft

Amy Boyd is a Cloud Advocate at Microsoft, having obtained a degree in Computer Science, completing a research project in Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning. Amy is passionate about Data Science and Machine Learning and her roles at Microsoft have allowed her to work on many different areas of data science (Visualisation, ML, Big Data, IoT) as well as working on projects with customers across the globe. Her role as a Cloud Advocate is to help developers to learn, engage and build on the Microsoft AI Platform. Amy creates and delivers content online and in-person and works with developers to provide the best product experience for them.
