🔗 What is the session about?
This event is part of a series of #12 workshops developed for female entrepreneurs under the scope of the partnership between Microsoft and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, to foster female entrepreneurship and opportunities for forcibly displaced populations in the tech sector in Brazil. The purpose of the sessions, to be held from March to October 2021, is to share content for the improvement of the business model and the expansion of the startups' future fundraising opportunities. Workshop #9: How to do business with corporate buyers
The objective of this session is to learn about how to access private procurement opportunities. The session will look at practical steps and tips to identify corporate clients and navigate how to respond to tenders for procurement contracts. This will be an interactive session where participants can share their questions, ideas and/or experiences in pursuing companies as clients.

💬 Speakers
Anna Domingo Riu
She works for IFC’s Gender Economic and Inclusion Group, Women’s Entrepreneurship Team and supports IFC’s work to integrate more women entrepreneurs into corporate supply chains. She is also a consultant professor in international business for Open University of Catalonia. She has worked for several business support organizations and implemented technical assistance projects financed by the World Bank Group and the European Commission in the area of trade, SME development and access to procurement opportunities in Africa, Latin America and Europe. She holds an Executive Master in International Service from American University, a Masters in International Development from Jaume I University (Spain), and a B.A. in Business Administration and Management from Barcelona University.Heather Kipnis
She is the Women’s Entrepreneurship and Inclusive Business Product Lead for IFC's Gender and Economic Inclusion Group and the global technical specialist advising project teams, clients, and partners on how to close gender gaps in access to finance, markets, and non-financial services - with the goal of unlocking opportunities for both IFC clients and women entrepreneurs in emerging markets. Heather brings 20 years of experience in international development and financial services across Latin America & the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. Prior to IFC, Heather led the programs and educational activities for a network of 75,000 women-led small to medium enterprises and held positions in impact investing and private wealth management. Heather has an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor's of Science in Decision and Information Sciences from University of Florida.
📌 This workshop was developed in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and is part of the initiative developed jointly by IFC and Microsoft to foster female entrepreneurship and increase inclusion and employability of women and Forcibly Displaced Populations in the tech sector in Brazil.
