In this episode of New Breakpoint, Michelle Sandford sits down with Nirmal Thewarathanthri to explore how Azure SRE Agent thinking can help teams move beyond application migration and into reliable, governed operations.

Together, they discuss how agent-first workflows can support application modernisation by tackling common operational challenges such as reliability debt, configuration drift, security and compliance requirements, unclear ownership, remediation processes, and human-approved change management.

The episode explores:

Why app modernisation extends beyond code migration
Applying SRE practices to day-2 operations
Detecting and remediating operational drift
Building policy-aware, auditable workflows
Keeping humans in the loop for critical approvals
Enabling collaboration across platform, application, and SRE teams

If you're looking to understand how Azure SRE Agent can support modern application operations at scale, this episode is a practical place to start.
