Modernizing apps isn’t just rewriting code—it’s untangling dependencies, tracing data flows, and making changes without breaking production. In this session, we’ll show how you can use agentic AI to take on the hardest parts of modernization: analyzing large codebases, mapping dependencies, planning upgrades, refactoring safely, while doing it all at scale. With the GitHub Copilot modernization agent, you can move from legacy complexity to modernized apps in days, not months. .NET Modernization for Beginners

Modernization backlogs continue to grow as organizations face technical debt, framework upgrades, cloud migrations, and architectural change across their Java application portfolios. In this session, learn how GitHub Copilot Modernization Agent analyzes applications, identifies modernization opportunities, generates migration plans, and accelerates code transformation. Through live demos, see how organizations can modernize Java applications faster, reduce manual effort, and move from legacy systems to cloud and AI-ready architectures with greater confidence. Key Takeaway: Agentic AI is changing the economics of modernization, enabling organizations to tackle larger application portfolios and accelerate AI transformation at scale.

Every application contains business rules, architectural patterns, internal frameworks, and development standards that generic AI cannot fully understand. Without that context, modernization efforts can produce inconsistent results and require significant manual review. Learn how GitHub Copilot Modernization custom skills help organizations bring their institutional knowledge directly into the modernization process. See how custom skills can encode business logic, software factory patterns, and governance requirements to generate more consistent, accurate, and production-ready outcomes across applications and teams. Through a live demonstration, you'll see how custom skills transform modernization workflows by turning tribal knowledge into reusable guidance that scales across projects. Join us to learn how to preserve organizational expertise while accelerating application modernization with AI. Key Takeaway: Custom skills help organizations modernize faster while ensuring AI-generated changes align with their unique standards, practices, and business requirements.

What if applications could continuously identify what needs to be modernized and help developers act on it? This session explores how agentic workflows can embed application modernization into the SDLC, moving teams from reactive, one-off upgrades toward continuous modernization. Bruno Borges will examine how AI agents and developer workflows can help keep applications current while maintaining human review and control.

Database modernization has never had a magic button. Migrations can take weeks or months of converting code, resolving incompatibilities, and validating that applications still work as expected. AI is changing that. In this session, we’ll use Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Foundry, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate an end-to-end migration to PostgreSQL on Azure HorizonDB. We’ll assess the existing application, convert schemas and SQL code, fix migration gaps, and progressively validate data, application logic, business behavior, and workloads. Through a practical, end-to-end migration, we’ll show how AI can accelerate database modernization and help teams migrate faster and with greater confidence.
