Linux is a free and open-source operating system that has been around since the early 1990s. It also happens to be the fastest growing platform on Azure. Linux-based images comprise 60% of Azure Marketplace Images. Top 100 Microsoft customers deploy Linux workloads on Azure. More than 50% of VM cores runs on Linux on Azure.
