Session Descriptions:
Session 1
Reducing vendor lock-in for Cloud Native Apps
Fast paced application development projects in resource constrained environments (e.g. startups, proof of concepts, etc...) often cut corners. For Cloud Native Apps this can easily lead to technical debt in form of direct dependencies to platform providers specific SDKs and services. Based on a sample directly derived from a real world cloud vendor migration, we discuss possible paths and patterns out of this lock-in, applying well known software design patterns and the CNF landscape.
Session 2
When Kubernetes isn't the right answer
Kubernetes is a hammer. And yes, it's the perfect hammer when the problem is a nail. But what happens if your problem is not the nail and you still try to solve it with Kubernetes? Join me in this session to learn what Kubernetes is, which problems it can solve, which problems it can't and alternative approaches to solve non-nail problems.
Session 3
GitHub Copilot and the technology behind it
This talk is about OpenAI's GitHub Copilot. Based on an encoder-decoder model, the GPT-3 Transformer implements a tool for speech processing. With the help of an attention mechanism, the GPT-3 Transformer creates natural language texts. However, GitHub Copilot is more than auto-completion of recognized speech patterns. It uses the provided context to synthesize a suitable code. Together with the Model Codex, which is built by Guthub and OpenAI, it suggests numerous possibilities of suitable programming snippets to a natural language input.
Session 4
CQRS 3.0 - The Serverless Solution
A few years ago I started to develop Enterprise Applications in the CQRS style like the enterprise companies loves. Since then, I made a lot of experiences and changes in this particular style. Finally, it led me to my new version of CQRS, I call it 3.0. In this talk, I explain my way of CQRS styles from "Apply" over "Stream" to “Serverless”. Some of you may know what I’m talking about, some not. So join this talk to get a view from my perspective which is serverless, Cloud and Domain driven, and it's simple to use. All of it is glued by a special software technic in Microsoft Azure, the Custom Bindings.
