Machine Learning for Evolving Applications

The Machine Learning series aims to provide you with a framework to help build your knowledge by learning important concepts in Machine Learning. It starts with learning the fundamental concepts, essential applications, and use-cases of machine learning, exploring the various algorithms, classification vs. regression, building machine learning models, and finally, exploring Machine learning in Azure. The first session provides a general overview and gives a brief introduction to the field of Machine Learning. We will explore the machine learning process, learn about the types of machine learning, supervised vs. unsupervised learning, applications, and use-cases, how to get started in this vital field, and many more. By the end of this series, you will be able to: Master the concepts of supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning concepts Understand the principles, algorithms, and applications of Machine Learning through a hands-on approach Understand how machine learning concepts are applied in different fields Learning Resources: GitHub - microsoft/ML-For-Beginners: 12 weeks, 26 lessons, 52 quizzes, classic Machine Learning for all Understand data science for machine learning - Training | Microsoft Learn Who is it aimed at? This session is aimed at all students/learners wishing to start their learning journey into Machine Learning. Speaker: Hadeel Shubair Speaker Bio: Hadeel is a Regional Cloud Advocate and Data Analytics Engineer for Microsoft, Middle East/Africa region. She holds a Master’s degree in Data Analytics and is passionate about learning and sharing her knowledge on tech topics including Data Analytics, AI, & ML. Before joining Microsoft, Hadeel held several appointments and roles including Google Women in Tech scholar through which she delivered several sessions to the community to motivate and empower young talents. Hadeel also served as part of the Data & Communications team overlooking the organization of the World Government Summit. On the other side, while at University, Hadeel chaired the Women in Engineering club, and was the Chief Editor of the Engineering Newsletter. As a Cloud Advocate for the Microsoft Reactor, Hadeel’s main goal is to take you on a journey to understand & learn more about Data and AI concepts and applications. She's passionate about technology, education, & growing the Data & AI community across the region.

We will look at the most popular algorithms used such as linear and logistic regression, and most importantly, understand which machine learning algorithm you should use for your use-case.
