What is the session about?
In this tutorial session, we build Power BI visualisations and calculations to play the game of roulette. We use the Monte Carlo technique to create lots of trials – in each trial, we simulate the ball randomly landing on a winning number on the roulette. We summarise these trials to work out if we end up cashing in our chips or lose our shirt. (Plot spoiler – the house always wins in the end regardless of whatever betting strategy we use.)
This sideways look at Power BI covers a few topics: creating visualisations, tables, and calculations and several DAX functions. It is suitable for anybody who is interested in Power BI, including beginners to Power BI (and to roulette😉). So grab your copy of Power BI Desktop and your Martini (shaken, not stirred) and get ready to place your bets.
Who is it aimed at?
People who would like to improve their knowledge of Power BI Desktop – both beginners and intermediate level
Why should you attend?
This will improve your knowledge of Power BI Desktop.
