Welcome to the "Let's talk Vectors" series in Reactor. This session is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of vector databases and their implementation within the Azure ecosystem.
We will begin by exploring the fundamental concepts of vector databases, their unique characteristics, and the advantages they offer over traditional databases. We will then delve into the various vector database options available in Azure, discussing their features, use cases, and how to choose the right one for your specific needs.
This session is the beginning of a series that delves into vector databases and their deployment on Azure. The series will explore various topics such as the deployment of Qdrant and Milvius, the use of Managed Pinecone for similarity search, vector storage and querying with Azure Redis Cache, extending PostgreSQL with Pgvector, vector search in CosmosDB using MongoDB vCore, vector similarity search with SQL on Azure, using Elasticsearch for vector data on Azure, and benchmarking vector databases on Azure.
By the end of this series, you will have a solid foundation in vector databases and be equipped with the knowledge to effectively utilize them in Azure. We look forward to embarking on this exciting journey with you!
