Toronto Fabric & Power BI User Group in collaboration with Microsoft Reactor Toronto are honoured to have the Power BI and Fabric community legend Reza Rad - RADACAD who is visiting Toronto from New Zealand and he generously accepted to talk in-person to our user group about “Fast and Furious: Power BI Direct Lake in Fabric”.

Reza Rad is a Microsoft Regional Director, an Author, Trainer, Speaker, and Consultant. He has a BSc in Computer engineering and more than 20 years of experience in data analysis, BI, databases, programming, and development mostly on Microsoft technologies. He has been a Microsoft Data Platform MVP for 14 consecutive years for his dedication to Microsoft BI work. Reza is an active blogger and co-founder of RADACAD. Reza is also co-founder and co-organizer of the Definity conference in New Zealand, the Power BI Summit (the biggest Power BI conference), and Data Insight Summit (Chicago, USA)

In his session, Reza will take us through what the Direct Lake is, its benefits, how it works, and an example of it connected to Lakehouse and Warehouse (and, of course, there will be discussions on the difference between these two objects too), the way it can work with Mirroring in the Warehouse, and many other aspects of it. The session is full of live demos plus slides. Topics covered in this session include but are not limited to Lakehouse, Warehouse, Mirroring, Power BI Direct Lake, Performance considerations, and Fabric.

1-You must register Toronto Fabric & Power BI User Group - Microsoft Fabric Community as well as at the Microsoft Reactor | Event to be able to get the QR access code. Registering at the user group community page alone won’t provide you with the QR access code which is mandatory to be able to entre Microsoft Office building.
2-This event has a capacity of 210 people and can only send 210 building access QR Codes
3-The registration will be closed on Fri Nov 8th at 4:00 pm or reaching the capacity limit (whichever comes first)
4-Please register only if you are certain that you can join and cancel if you can't join to avoid wasting the spot
