In this hands-on session, you will learn how to create intelligent, domain-specific AI agents using the Microsoft Foundry Agent Service.
We will walk through the process step by step — from building a basic agent to extending it with custom tools, external data, and live integrations.
By the end of the workshop, you will have built your own Contoso PizzaBot, an AI assistant capable of:
- Following customized system prompts
- Using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to answer questions based on custom documents
- Calling custom tools, such as a pizza calculator
- Integrating with an MCP server for real-time menu and order management

A development environment with Python 3.13+ installed
Familiarity with Python basics (no deep AI background required!)
