What if a tiny desk robot had an agentic brain built with .NET?

In this three-episode series, we’ll build an AI desk companion with StackChan, .NET, and Microsoft technologies.

We’ll bring the robot to life with C++ and ASP.NET Core, build its AI brain with .NET and Microsoft Foundry, and orchestrate the services with Aspire. Then we’ll explore agent capabilities with Microsoft Agent Framework, GitHub Copilot SDK, and WorkIQ.

Follow along as we go from a connected robot to a helpful agent.

New Year, New Bot - Bring Your AI Desk Robot to Life

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (UTC)

Meet the M5Stack StackChan as a physical AI desk robot. Program its expressions and movements, connect it to a .NET backend and dashboard, and create a first end-to-end interaction. This hands-on session shows how hardware and .NET services can work together to bring a real desk companion to life.

New Year, New Bot - Build Its AI Brain with .NET and Aspire

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (UTC)

Build the bot's AI brain with a .NET backend orchestrated through .NET Aspire. Connect the backend to the StackChan from Episode 1, add the services and observability needed for local development, and create an end-to-end interaction that makes the physical desk robot responsive. This session shows how Aspire helps developers build and run the pieces of a connected AI companion.

New Year, New Bot - Give Your Bot an Agentic Brain

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (UTC)

Build an agentic AI experience with the GitHub Copilot SDK, integrating the agent with the .NET and Aspire backend and the M5Stack StackChan. Explore agent behaviors and tool use, then connect the software to the robot so it can respond through its display and movements. This session demonstrates how an SDK-driven agent can power a physical AI companion.
