In this workshop, you will learn the basics of Kubernetes and how to package applications for delivery to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The goal of this workshop is to cover as many application implementation details as possible to get you comfortable with hosting your apps on AKS. We will start with a simple application deployment and then progress to more complex scenarios by introducing integrations with other Azure services and open source tooling commonly used within cloud native apps.

With AKS Automatic, you can deploy a Kubernetes cluster with just a few clicks in the Azure Portal.

In this lab, you will learn how to deploy application workloads on an Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) cluster using Microsoft Entra Workload Identity. This integration allows your applications to access Microsoft Entra protected resources, such as Azure Key Vault and Microsoft Graph, using application credentials or managed identities.

In this hands-on lab, you will explore how to implement event-driven workloads on Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) using Kubernetes Event-Driven Autoscaling (KEDA) and Karpenter. KEDA allows you to scale your Kubernetes deployments based on certain events, while Karpenter helps in optimizing the cost and performance of your Kubernetes clusters by dynamically provisioning the right compute resources.
